Learning to Walk Like I Belong to God

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always walked with my head down.

I don’t mean that figuratively. I mean literally – while walking, I am looking at the ground. For years now.

I’m sure we could have a whole psychology lesson as to why that’s the case, and I could probably even pinpoint its origin, but that’s not the purpose of this blog post.

I’m here because I have tea, and obviously I’m gonna spill it. #girlsgirl

About a month ago, God laid it on my heart to start walking with my head up.

Again, I mean that literally. He shared that he no longer wants me to look at the ground while walking, and instead, pick my head up and look forward.

Now we’re talking about undoing YEARS of ingrained behavior. So, naturally, I have not executed this change perfectly.

But hear me when I tell you this.

When I DO remember to lift my head while walking, I can feel my confidence being restored and that pesky fear of inadequacy being broken off of me.

Girl that is so much tea like thank you Jesus!!!

I mean, he knows exactly how to fill in the gap. I’m sure there are probably tons of videos online telling women to walk with their heads up. But Jesus came to me – right where I was. He loves me so much that he and all his mightiness took the time to tell me something so simple, yet so effective: Pick up your head.

Whew, I had to get that out.

But girl, I really hope you give this a shot for the sake of your confidence in who you are in Christ.

We are daughters of the Most High. 1 Peter 2:9 reminds us that we are God’s special possession. And I believe that in this season, God wants us to act and walk like it.

We have been slaves to the fear of inadequacy for far too long my love. It is time for us to realign ourselves with the truth of who God says we are.

And that truth is not meant to stay with us in our quiet, individual time with God.

Stop because I just preached.

Girl. Let me say it again, a different way.

The revelation that you have about who God says you are is meant to be lived boldly in every area of your life.

And I believe with all my heart that walking with our heads high is only a seed. And that seed will grow and produce an abundant amount of fruit.🌱🍉🍊🍋
